LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon Mountaineer Football team (4-6, 4-6 FC) made their fifth and final trip to Montana this season as they faced off with the #1 ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints.
The Mounties were smothered by the Fighting Saints defense and were trailing 28-0 going into the fourth quarter. However, the Mountaineers once again showed their determination and perserverance as Quarterback Chris Ware scrambled for a 61-yard touchdown to prevent a shutout.
The Eastern defense gave up just 236 yards to the Fighing Saints, but the offense was held in check and limited to just 110 yards on the day. The team will now return to the friendly confines of Community Stadium as they take on the Raiders of Southern Oregon University.
This final regular season home game will also allow fans to honor this year's group of senior football players. The game will be held on Saturday, November 15th and is scheduled to kickoff at 12:00 p.m. PST. Make sure to show up early, as the senior football players will be honored before the opening kickoff.
